The idea for atelier17 originated at the end of 2022 during a classic walk. We realized that just because things are far away or we don’t see them, it doesn’t mean they’re not there.

The idea of using the clothing we wear for something good began to take shape. And one question just wouldn’t leave us: What can we achieve if we just get started?

It wasn't quite that simple, as starting a business alongside university was more time-consuming than expected. However, after studying abroad and internships, we finally got things going at the end of 2023!

Quite simple: Create pieces that not only look good but also carry a message. Each design from atelier17 addresses a societal issue that moves us – from environmental protection to equality to mental health.

Through our shirts, we aim to promote empathy and awareness in society. Therefore, a portion of the proceeds is donated to foundations that support these very causes.

This way, we all contribute together to making the world a little bit better

It was clear that we wanted to be 100% sustainable. And we aim to achieve this with a fair process from start to finish, featuring local production. That's why we have all our designs realized in Frankfurt am Main by a GOTS-certified printing company that brings our ideas to life with great expertise and care.

With atelier17, we want to show that fashion can do more than just look good. It can tell stories, spark discussions, and ultimately bring about change. This way, you can proudly wear a piece that is designed with love and has genuine meaning.

Is something very special. We've collaborated with Tom ( @helicoptom ), who is a pilot himself and, just like us, wants to make a difference.

Together we want to raise awareness of mental health in aviation. That's why we launched #pilotscrytoo.

Our first project is the beginning of a journey that is close to our hearts and is the foundation for many more exciting projects to come.

Is particularly important to us. Because in alpine winter sports, a brief moment of inattention can turn into an emergency, even in perfect weather conditions and fresh powder snow.

That is why we have launched the #edelweissclub project, which draws attention to the many volunteers of the ÖBRD. They are on duty 24/7 to help in emergency situations.
