Unfortunately, mental health is somewhat neglected in aviation for fear of losing one's job.

We want to help raise awareness of how quickly mental health can become unbalanced. At the same time, it is important to us to encourage people to be open to the topic of care and therapy.

Because talking to a peer or professional about your problems shows strength, and no one should be judged for that!

In order to prevent mental health from becoming unbalanced and critical incidents in flight operations from leading to mental illness, the Mayday Foundation provides valuable support for flight crews in all areas of aviation, for example in the form of its CISM program.

WHAT CISM ACTUALLY MEANS

CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) refers to all preventive and accompanying measures that support people in dealing with stress symptoms after critical incidents.

Everyone processes the experience differently. This is why individual perception is crucial, regardless of the actual potential danger

CISM enables the Mayday Foundation to reduce the proportion of people affected by critical incidents by 80% in the long term.
